After an initial evaluation by our skilled technical staff, the doctor evaluates the patient’s history and performs a dilated retinal examination. Some patients have tests that requires diagnostic study including fluorescein angiography, retinal photography, ophthalmic computerized tomography (OCT), and ultrasound testing. Detailed reports are sent to referring doctors along with copies to the primary doctor, and anyone else that is involved with your care.

Treatment of most diseases can be done right in the comfort of the office. Macular degeneration is frequently treated with intraocular injection of medications such as Avastin or Lucentis. Some patients with retinal detachment or other diseases of the retina and vitreous require surgery in an operating room.
